The web talks about it:

.

The 147 lives up to its sleek looks on the road. The steering is direct and well weighted,
while the manual transmission has precise action and a short throw.
Only firm driving lets the overall package down, as the car becomes choppy when
you are traveling on bad surfaces. An interesting variant is the Q2, which comes with
a front limited-slip differential (also available on all other models
of the range, optional, 450). It really makes a difference when cornering.
Grip is much stronger and the 147 refuses to lose power even when
you apply a lot of gas. It combines well with the 1.9 liter diesel, which is one
of the smoothest oil burners on the market, while offering good performance.
The rough 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter gasoline engines are effervescent, but should
be worked harder than diesel, no great difficulties, given their love
high revs!

The 147 is an individual and elegant piece. Offered in three and five door versions,
even the five-door looks sporty, thanks to its swooping stance and rear door handles
hidden in window frames. Alfa Romeo redesigned the 147 range in 2005 and introduced
exciting new variants in 2007 - to help it keep up with the competition
growth of the BMW 1 Series, Audi A3, Mercedes C-Class Sports Coupé and Volvo C30.
As such, the range is quite logical, with Turismo and Lusso versions,
plus the Q2 special, and a choice of four engines - two kneaders, two diesels.
