The Alfa Romeo 147 was introduced to Australia in 2001. It was launched in Europe in 2000.
The Alfa Romeo 147 obtained a score of 3.433 out of 16 in the offset crash test. The passenger compartment was compromised.
Protection against serious injury was marginal for the head,
the driver's chest and legs.
The vehicle scored 15.92 out of 16 in the side crash test and two additional points
to the optional test of the posts.

Dual front airbags, side airbags and side curtain head protection
are standard equipment. Pretensioners are fitted to the front seat belts
to reduce clearance in the event of a collision. These seat belts also have limiters
charging.
The passenger compartment was compromised during the offset crash test, resulting in a loss of one point.
The brake pedal moved rearward by 306 mm and upward by 127 mm.
Dash rail separated from A-pillar. Steering wheel hub has moved rearward
of 165 mm, downwards of 4 mm and laterally of 97 mm. The A-pillar has moved 106 mm
backwards. All doors remained closed during the accident. After the accident,
high manual effort was required to open the driver's door.
The driver's head went past the airbag and hit the dashboard.
The hard components behind the dashboard were dangerous for the driver's knees.
The impact area of the passenger's knee was also considered dangerous.
