The current generation Nissan Navara was launched in 2015 as the NP300 Navara, offering a new
platform and powertrain options for the competitive pickup truck segment.
One of its main features at the time was its multi-link rear suspension -
a type of suspension typically found in small crossovers and sedans.
In 2018, Nissan updated the Navara with the Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite of safety features
high technology which includes the panoramic monitor.
As a mid-size pickup truck, the Navara has a rigid construction on the chassis.
It is available only with a four-door double-cab body.
The Navara sits atop Nissan's F-Alpha platform, coded D23. It can be used in
4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain configurations.
Under the hood of the Navara is a 2.5 liter YD25 DDTi diesel engine which is tuned in two ways,
depending on variant, paired with 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission
with manual mode. For the EL and Caliber versions, this power plant produces 161 hp and a torque of 403 Nm,
while the VL can be exclusively used with 187 hp and 450 Nm pumping inside the hood.
The Navara's suspension is an independent double wishbone suspension with coil spring and
stabilizer bar (front) and multi-link coil spring (5-link) with stabilizer bar (rear).
The front and rear brakes are ventilated discs and drums, respectively.
