The Honda CR-V 2.4 is a highly anticipated introduction from Honda, as it addresses one of the shortcomings
the most glaring of the popular multi-segment SUV - insufficient power. The previous generation,
in particular, felt poorly underpowered on the move, a problem partially alleviated with the model
of this incarnation which retains the same engine but with shorter ratios to improve
acceleration from a standing start and mid-range responsiveness.

However, transmission deception only gets you so far, and when things get tough,
it takes some serious muscle to go there, and the only answer to that is an increase in engine output.
Honda clearly believes that the majority of CR-V buyers will continue to find the base model
2.0 liters a completely adequate preposition, but with the 2.4 liter model it seeks to throw a
wider net at the upper end of the segment for buyers looking for a more ambitious product.

There are no visible badges on the exterior of the vehicle to identify it as the 2.4, but observers
can note the larger 18-inch alloys (compared to 17-inch in the 2.0), chrome door handles
with keyless entry buttons for both front, and HID headlights. Inside the cabin,
the additional sums paid are translated into leather seats with electrical adjustment for the driver,
engine start/stop button, curtain airbags, Bluetooth connectivity and 6.1-inch touchscreen
with integrated GPS.
