There is no doubt that the DK40 will do well at the top of the range.
If you start hauling a heavy trailer (I hauled manure from a friends farm and some stone)
on the hills you need as many resumes as possible.
My weekend adventure worked,
but the tractor needed more power and I'm sure I would say the same thing if I had a DK50,
you can never have too much power.
I will say that my DK45 has the same or less available power as your DK40 with the air conditioner on,
so an open station tractor can do better with less horsepower.
